A
CommunityID webcast will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007,
at 10:30 a.m. CST. The one-hour webcast, “Selling Your
Community to Retailers,” will provide an overview of trends
in retail recruitment and will give numerous real-world examples
of successes featuring selected communities.
“More than ever before, communities are taking an active
role in attracting appropriate retail development to their trade
areas,” says Harvey H. Yamagata, president, CommunityID
Division, Buxton. “We’re delighted to host this
informative event for municipal leaders and economic development
professionals across the country.”
The webcast will cover what communities need to locate retail
to their trade area and how to assemble sites for development.
Participants will learn how to market their communities to retailers
and how to gain a competitive advantage over the many other
municipalities vying for retailers’ attention. Throughout
the webcast, participants will be able to write in questions,
and there will be a designated Q&A session at the end of
the webcast.
Since 1994, Buxton has helped over 1,200 major retailers make
