FORT WORTH, Texas – Fort Worth-based Buxton is making its presence known at the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) annual Spring Convention in Las Vegas, Nev. Buxton, the leader in customer analytics for the retail industry, has expanded their display space to 2,200 sq. ft., at the event May 20–22, 2007.
“In the five years since we first started attending this important event, our presence has grown from a rented display covering 600 sq. ft. to the largest custom display in the Trade Expo Hall at ICSC,” says Tom Buxton, president and CEO of Buxton. “Our larger booth size reflects the increase in the services we offer as well as the number of clients we serve.”
Buxton founded the company in 1994 to provide in-depth customer data to clients, mainly retailers, who needed this information to make better decisions about what products to sell and where to locate their businesses. In recent years, Buxton has expanded its service offerings to provide customer data, site-selection information, and product market research to healthcare organizations, consumer packaged goods manufacturers and city governments.
Buxton’s booth at the ICSC Spring Convention will feature 20 meeting areas, including 6 enclosed rooms for audio/video presentations, and a section called “Our Town” to create a community atmosphere for public sector prospects and clients. Unlike the typical trade show, ICSC is formatted for exhibitors and attendees to meet and make deals. In 2006, Buxton had over 450 appointments during 2 ˝ days, and anticipates well over that number this year. To support these deal-making meetings, about 40 Buxton employees will attend the event.
Over 50,000 attendees representing all phases of the retail industry are expected to attend the Spring Convention’s golden anniversary. About 1,358 companies are scheduled to exhibit at the event. ICSC is the global trade association of the shopping center industry. Its 65,000 members in the U.S., Canada and more than 80 other countries include retailers, shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, public sector officials, investors, lenders, and other professionals.
