Pete and Mac’s Chooses Buxton Development to Unleash U.S. Expansion
Date:
August 22, 2007
FORT WORTH, Texas – Pet Resorts, Inc., the parent company of Pete & Mac’s, a “pet recreational resort” offering lodging, daycare, grooming and training for dogs and cats, has selected the Buxton Development Division as the preferred developer to assist with expansion of the brand nationwide.
“Buxton was already helping us with customer analytics and site selection when we learned that they were offering full development services,” said Ron Butler, president and CEO of Pet Resorts, Inc. “We were excited to hear that a single company could handle site identification, zoning, design and construction for us. I can’t imagine a better partner to help us roll out the Pete and Mac’s concept.”
Through the agreement, Buxton will examine the national market potential for Pete and Mac’s through customer analytics, identify retail sites with a high probability of success and provide single-source development services, from financing to building design to general contracting. When the building is complete, Buxton will lease it back to Pet Resorts, Inc. By partnering with the Buxton Development Division, Pet Resorts, Inc. is able to take advantage of high-quality development opportunities without consuming most of their resources upfront.
“Small and mid-size retailers without an in-house real estate department are quickly realizing the advantages of using a company that can find, finance and develop sites for them,” said Bryan Spain, president of Buxton Development. “We have more than 450 years of retail experience on our staff coupled with extensive development expertise, so we’ve truly done it all. We’re looking forward to helping Pete and Mac’s take these important next steps in their growth.”
