Recent reports show that department stores are moving into expansion mode once again. While expansion plans are slowly announced, analyst and the retail world look to this move as a sign that the marketplace is ticking upward.
Retailers are going back to the drawing board making sure that each newly-selected site has the minimum threshold of core customers necessary for their concept. Big box stores like Target are also developing smaller footprint stores and redesigning stores in certain markets for maximum efficiency.
