Enhanced Industry Site Score Model

Combine actual consumer profiles with variables selected based on proven industry experience.

An enhanced industry site score model is one of the five primary types of site selection models that Buxton can create. While it can be used in any industry, it is most popular in the healthcare industry and with retailers who are in earlier stages of their growth cycle.

This model combines your unique consumer profile with variables that are selected based on Buxton’s analytics industry experience. Model variables may include factors such as distance decay rates, presence of competitors, co-tenancy, area draw, healthcare supply and demand (for healthcare models), and more. Because the models are based on our extensive industry experience and have minimal client data requirements, they provide reliable insights with a quicker implementation time than a forecasting or benchmark model.

In the healthcare industry, it is common for clients to elect to develop models for each individual service line or facility type they wish to study.

Output & Utilization

The enhanced industry site score model is deployed to SCOUT for on-demand access. When you use the model to score a site, the model generates a site score report with an index score that tells you how a site’s potential compares to the average site’s potential. If a score of 100 represents average potential, a 120 score indicates that the site has 20% better opportunity. The site score report also provides a list of important model variables with their index scores so you can see how the overall score was derived.

Data Requirements

You provide data such as: Unique location names and addresses, customer/patient names and addresses

Buxton provides: Competitor locations, supply and demand data, consumer demographic/psychographic data, and other variables as needed (e.g. healthcare payer data)

Buxton will work with you to set up a data feed to keep your location and consumer data up-to-date in the platform.

*Requirements vary based on the model objective and client. Your Buxton representative will work with you to define the requirements. Clients who do not wish to provide patient/customer data or are unable to provide this data may elect to use a theoretical “goal profile” developed by Buxton rather than an actual consumer profile.

Implementation
