Dayton, Texas to Use Buxton’s Analytics for Retail Recruitment

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (January 5, 2017) – The City of Dayton, Texas recently partnered with Buxton to use community analytics to better understand the needs of their residents. The insights will be used to develop a targeted and effective retail recruitment and retention strategy.

“Using analytics to better understand our community will allow Dayton to focus its recruitment efforts on just those retailers that are the best fit for our residents’ needs,” said Courtland Holman, Executive Director of Dayton Community Development Corporation. “This gives our residents the convenience of shopping at home, and provides additional revenue for the city to use in enhancing quality of life. I have utilized Buxton’s services before to great success while working for another city and anticipate, with their help, a similar success in attracting quality retail to Dayton, Texas,” said Holman.

“Buxton looks forward to beginning this project with the City of Dayton and the Dayton Community Development Corporation,” said Lisa McCay, senior vice president of Buxton. “We will use our best-in-class analytics and retail expertise to guide city leaders as they prepare Dayton for the future.”

By becoming a Buxton client, Dayton will have access to SCOUT®, Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform, giving city leaders data and information at their fingertips to analyze different areas of the city.

Buxton has worked with more than 750 communities across the country to improve economic development strategies. Other client cities in Texas include Waxahachie, Celina, Wichita Falls, and many others.
