Product Description
A service line model is one of three primary types of site selection models that Buxton can create for a healthcare provider. The model allows you to assess the viability of a particular service line at any site, based on variables included in the model. Those variables may include factors such as your unique patient profile, distance decay rates, area draw, healthcare supply and demand, and more. Buxton’s service line models have been tested and verified based on previous experience with other clients in the industry, providing reliable insights with a quicker implementation time than a predictive or benchmark model.
When a client’s patient data is available, Buxton incorporates the unique patient profile into the service line model. When a client’s patient data is not available, Buxton integrates a national “goal profile” for the service line based on our extensive industry experience.
OUTPUT & UTILIZATION
The service line model is deployed to SCOUT, an application in the Buxton Analytics Platform. When you use the model to score a site, the model generates a site score report with an index score that tells you how a site’s potential for that service line compares to the average site’s potential. If a score of 100 represents average potential, a 120 score indicates that the site has 20% better opportunity. The site score report also provides a list of important model variables with their index scores so you can see how the overall score was derived.
DATA REQUIREMENTS*
You provide data such as: Unique location names and addresses, patient names and addresses*
Buxton provides: Competitor locations, healthcare supply and demand data, consumer demographic/psychographic data, insurance payer data, and other variables as needed
Buxton can work with you to set up a data feed to keep your location and patient data up-to-date in the platform.
*Requirements vary based on the model objective and client. Patient data is typically optional.
IMPLEMENTATION
Service line models require the Buxton Analytics Platform in order to access the site scoring tool.
