FORT WORTH, TEXAS (March 28, 2017) — Buxton Chief of Staff Chris Briggs has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) at the University of North Texas (UNT). Formerly known as the College of Arts and Sciences, CLASS is the largest college at UNT and includes academic disciplines ranging from communications to the social sciences. UNT is one of the nation’s largest public research universities, enrolling more than 37,000 students.
The board provides guidance and support to the college as it works to transform the lives of its students, advance the boundaries of knowledge and support the economic development of Texas. Board members are leaders from government, business, education and the arts.
“The future of the customer analytics industry rests on fostering the next generation of creative thinkers and preparing them for the challenges that will meet them in this rapidly changing world,” notes Briggs. “I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on this board and to contribute to the advancement of the college’s mission.”
In 2007, Briggs was recognized by the UNT College of Arts and Sciences as an Outstanding Alumnus. He received a bachelor’s degree in geography from UNT and continued executive education from Southern Methodist University.
