City of Hesperia, California Renews Partnership with Buxton to Attract New Retail and Restaurant Development

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (January 19, 2016) — The City of Hesperia has announced that it will continue its partnership with Buxton to attract new retail and restaurant development. Since the beginning of this partnership in 2004, Buxton’s customer analytics and retail expertise have helped city leaders successfully recruit over 27 restaurants and retailers, such as Wal-Mart and Target. These additional developments produced over 2.6 million dollars in tax revenue for the City of Hesperia.

Buxton’s household-level customer analytics will continue to identify retail and restaurant companies that seek customers who match the profile of Hesperia shoppers and quantify retail development potential in the rapidly growing community.

Additionally, city leaders will use Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform SCOUT to continue to analyze retail matches and provide market intelligence to existing local businesses. SCOUT reporting features present a convincing case to retailers seeking growth opportunities.

“Hesperia’s economy has greatly benefitted from Buxton’s expert analysis and retail recruitment advice,” said Lisa LaMere, economic development management analyst for the City of Hesperia. “By continuing our partnership with Buxton, we can better understand our developing growth strategy.”

“Buxton is thrilled to continue our partnership with the City of Hesperia,” said Lisa McCay, vice president of Buxton’s public sector division. “We are excited to see continual retail growth in this thriving city through the utilization of our best-in-class analytics.”

Buxton has worked with more than 700 cities nationwide to implement retail development strategies. Client cities in California include Rancho Cordova, South Gate, Temecula, and many others.
