FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (March 24, 2015) — The Frederick County Economic Development Authority (EDA) in Virginia is beginning an intensive retail recruitment process with the help of its partner, Buxton. Buxton’s advanced customer analytics have identified retailers that match the shopping and dining habits of consumers in Frederick County’s trade area. Based on Buxton’s analysis, EDA leaders have pinpointed retailers they wish to bring to the area.
While retail economic development programs have traditionally relied on basic demographic information, Frederick County’s retail attraction program is utilizing customer insights that go beyond demographics, presenting a convincing case to retailers seeking growth opportunities. Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform, SCOUT®, gives EDA leaders the ability to analyze retail matches, support existing retailers and optimize development decisions.
“Attracting additional high quality retailers to Frederick County further diversifies the community’s tax base and strengthens our quality of life to retain current and attract future residents,” commented Patrick Barker, CEcD, executive director of the Frederick County EDA. “Buxton’s data can also be used to benefit our existing retailers.”
