Mercy Health and Site Selection Models
Using Site Selection Models to Make Strategic Decisions

Using Site Selection Models to Make Strategic Decisions

Buxton has worked with hundreds of health systems, big and small, throughout the United States. No matter the size, every health system can benefit from the insights generated from site selection models.

Mercy Health in St Louis is a great example of health systems that have benefited from Buxton’s site selection models to help them make key decisions. They have a strong outpatient strategy for multiple service lines, and they have used that to turn real estate, a cost center, into a revenue generator. By being smart with where they invest and where they don’t, Mercy Health has found the key to being profitable.

Since Mercy is a faith-based system, they can't take that profit and put it in their pockets. They do, however, use that profit to fulfill missions related to population health initiatives. So not only are site selection models beneficial to health systems in turning a profit, but the end result is also beneficial to the people health systems serve.
