FORT WORTH, TEXAS (November 13, 2017) — Buxton’s President and CEO, Tom Buxton, has been selected by the Fort Worth Business Press as a Mentor Award recipient for 2017. The award acknowledges the mentors who have had a positive and lasting influence on their mentees and the community in Fort Worth. The winners of this award were chosen based on their level of dedication to helping their mentees grow, both personally and professionally, as well as their passion for mentoring and developing leaders.
“I’m honored to be chosen for this award by the Fort Worth Business Press,” said Buxton. “Being a mentee has been such an important experience in my life, both professionally and personally, so it’s been a pleasure to have my turn to mentor those around me as well.”
Buxton founded the company in 1994 using the knowledge he gained during two decades of managing all retail and real estate for the consumer electronics retailer Tandy Corporation. In 2015, Buxton was named one of five retail industry influencers on The List of People Shaping Retail’s Future by the National Retail Federation Foundation. He has also been inducted into the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame and recognized as one of three figures who “influences the future of retail real estate” by Retail Traffic Magazine.
