FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (August 11, 2016) — Buxton announced today that Covington, KY has requested its expertise to help grow its retail sector, particularly in the Latonia neighborhood. The company will identify the buying habits and lifestyles of consumers in Covington’s trade area, and then match those consumers to the core customers of retail and restaurant brands. The information from Buxton will help Covington community leaders attract retailers and restaurants to the area.
“Covington is experiencing a redevelopment boom on an unprecedented scale, with hundreds of new residential units in the pipeline. We are excited about bringing more customers for our existing businesses, and determining what new business investment opportunities there are especially for our Latonia neighborhood with its commercial and historic corridors,” said Larry Klein, city manager of the City of Covington. “By partnering with Buxton, we will build on that momentum to recruit new retail and restaurant options to our neighborhoods.”

As part of the partnership, the community will utilize Buxton’s web-based real estate platform, SCOUT. The tool gives the city’s leadership team the ability to analyze retail matches, support existing retailers and utilize marketing materials in the retail recruitment process.
