Jeffersonville, IN, Partners with Buxton to Recruit New Retailers to Community

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (February 8, 2019) — Jeffersonville, Ind., a city with more than 47,000 residents, has partnered with Fort Worth-based Buxton to use analytics to strengthen its retail development efforts along the 10th Street corridor. The city will leverage the analytics to gain insight to the most promising types of retail, dining and entertainment for this corridor. These insights will inform Jeffersonville’s long-term economic development strategy, allow city leaders to take a proactive approach in attracting new amenities and support existing businesses with consumer insights.

“Jeffersonville is taking a data-driven approach to retail recruitment,” said Dennis Maher, vice president of sales for Buxton’s public sector division. “By performing this analysis, the city will have the insights necessary to provide a strong case to retailers and restaurants as to why they should open along the 10th Street area in Jeffersonville.”

As a Buxton client, Jeffersonville will have access to SCOUT®, Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform, giving local leaders data and information at their fingertips to analyze the city.

Buxton has worked with more than 800 communities across the country to integrate data into economic development strategies. Client cities include Spencer, IA; Ferguson, MO; Peru, IL and many others.
