FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (June 21, 2016) — The City of Lakewood, Colorado, has partnered with consumer analytics firm Buxton to study retail potential in the historic Lakewood West Colfax Corridor. Buxton’s retail matching process will identify the retailers that best match the lifestyles of residents and are most likely to thrive in the area.
“In 2016, the Economic Development Department will focus on Lakewood-West Colfax Avenue where a renaissance is well under way,” said Nanette Neelan, Deputy City Manager/Economic Development Director of Lakewood. “The data from Buxton’s analysis will help us to present a convincing picture of the corridor’s retail and restaurant opportunities to connect potential new businesses with property owners to further the corridor renaissance.”
While retail economic development programs have traditionally relied on basic demographic information, Lakewood’s retail attraction program is utilizing consumer insights that go beyond demographics, presenting a convincing case to retailers seeking growth opportunities. Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform, SCOUT®, gives city leaders the ability to analyze retail matches to provide additional support to brokers/property owners in pursuit of attracting potential tenants and connecting property owners/leasers with those retailors.
