FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Oct. 16, 2019) — The City of Ottawa, Ill. has selected Buxton as the city’s retail recruitment consultant to focus on validating the retail trade area for specific shopping corridors throughout the community. This approach will allow Ottawa to prove the city’s market potential and refine its pitch to the best-fit retailers identified for pursuit.
Buxton will utilize its mobile data capabilities to define Ottawa’s trade market and visitors to downtown, Starved Rock State Park and other areas. Ottawa will also have access to SCOUT®, Buxton’s proprietary web-based real estate platform, giving community leaders market analytics to inform their local economic development strategy.
"As the gateway to Starved Rock, Ottawa is a regional destination filled with investment and potential,” said Chris Briggs, senior vice president for Buxton’s public sector division. “Leveraging Buxton’s analytics, retail expertise and innovative economic development strategies, Ottawa will implement a retail attraction program that will serve as a catalyst for even more retail opportunities.”
