Tom Buxton Named to The List of People Shaping Retail’s Future by the NRF Foundation

We are honored to announce that Tom Buxton, president and CEO of Buxton, has been named to The List of People Shaping Retail’s Future by the NRF Foundation, the non-profit arm of the National Retail Federation.

Selected by a panel of industry experts, The List honorees represent power players, disruptors, givers, influencers and dreamers in the retail industry.

Buxton is one of 25 individuals selected and will be honored at the inaugural NRF Foundation Gala in New York City on January 11, 2015 as part of the “influencer” category of individuals whose work is paving the way for innovative retailers.

In 1994, Buxton left a two-decade career at Tandy/Radio Shack to bring science to the process of retail site selection. The innovative predictive analytics technology and SCOUT platform that his company created have transformed decision-making processes for more than 3,000 clients, including Sally Beauty Supply, Anthropologie and Pier 1 Imports.

“I am honored that the National Retail Federation has chosen to recognize the work done by our firm. This award is a testament to the creativity and dedication of the entire Buxton team,” said Buxton.

“Tom Buxton took his know-how and passion and built a company that helps retailers establish foundations in communities large and small; Buxton truly personifies a retail ‘influencer,’” said NRF Senior Vice President and NRF Foundation Executive Director Ellen Davis. “The fact-based services and technology his company provides is directly affecting how and where retailers engage their customers and will undoubtedly shape the retail landscape for years to come.”
