Wharton Data Analytics Club and Buxton Present Data Visualization Hackathon

FORT WORTH, TEXAS, (February 16, 2015) — On February 27, 2015, the Wharton Data Analytics Club will host its first data visualization hackathon, a competition that challenges Wharton student teams to effectively visualize data to answer business questions. Buxton is the title sponsor of the event and will provide the keynote presentation.

Thirty-two team proposals were submitted, representing 103 undergraduate and graduate students from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). Ten teams have been selected to compete in the hackathon and will present their findings to a panel of judges that will include Wharton professors and executives from Buxton and other sponsors. Among the awards that will be presented is “Best Use of Visualization and Analysis of Spatial Data,” the recipient of which will be selected by Buxton.
